No-Fee Programs
The following programs are provided to you free of fees.
Volunteers play a key role in providing the programs.
Volunteers meet weekly between September and June to make crafts
for the various fundraising activities of Scarborough Support Services.
This group is a great way to meet new friends. Spend a morning learning how to make fun new crafts, and support the other important programs Scarborough Support Services offers at the same time! Call us at 416-750-9885 or email the program co-ordinator at craftgroup@ssse.ca to find out more about our Craft Group and when it meets next. Note: While there are no fees for participating in
this program, there may be some minor costs associated with purchasing of materials.
This program is a great way to find some companionship.
Trained volunteers are matched with seniors and disabled adults
who are socially isolated. Volunteers provide a personal,
continuous one-to-one relationship with clients at their
residence and may perform tasks such as reading and writing.
Call us at 416-750-9885 or email the program co-ordinator at friendlyvisiting@ssse.ca for more information
With this program, trained volunteers call and befriend isolated
seniors and disabled adults on a regular basis to ensure their safety
and well-being.
You can feel secure knowing that a few times a week, you can hear that friendly and familiar voice on the other end of the line. Call us at 416-750-9885 for more information about the Telephone Reassurance program. |
